It all goes back about 2000 years, to the Holy Land. After the violent death of Jesus Christ, his disciples - the 12 apostles - started their journeys around the Mediterranean and Black Sea, to Ethiopia and all the way to India, to spread the Gospel as promised to Jesus. James had left for the Iberian Peninsula where he supposedly stayed for 2 years, or so. In the year 44AD he returned to Jerusalem only to be beheaded by order of King Herod.

"wanderer, your footsteps are the road, and nothing more; wanderer, there is no road, the road is made by walking. by walking one makes the road, and when looking behind, there is a path you will never tread again. wanderer, there is no road - only wakes upon the sea"      antonio machado
